Isis is an 11 year old Thoroughbred mare rescued from auction in July. She has TB, Jockey Club and Canadian Sport Horse Association papers under the name "Time to Spare". She was started 13 times and made just over $2000. After being bought and sold a few times in the race industry she was used as a brood mare for 6 years prior to being sent to auction.
Isis is named after the Egyptian Goddess who was goddess of the healing arts, magic.... Her worship spread through to Greece and Rome, where a medical centre, Isis Medicus, was built. With the rise of Christianity the centre was destroyed and a church built in its place. In this era Isis represents "women reclaiming their innate power to heal that has been suppressed by a patriarchal society".
Isis is a beautiful horse, who is very intuitive and has amazing potential as a therapy horse.
